US marine arrested in Japan on suspicion of killing woman, police say
A US marine has been arrested in Okinawa, Japan, accused of murdering a 39-year-old Japanese woman at a hotel and stealing her belongings.

Lance Cpl Devin Jacob Ballard, 20, was arrested in Okinawa on suspicion of murdering Anna Yagi, 39, at a hotel in Naha.
CCTV footage showed a foreign man entering a room with a woman and later leaving with her belongings, leading police to Ballard.
Japan's prime minister lodged a formal protest with the US, calling the crime exceptionally brutal and demanding stricter military discipline.
