Australian federal police and ASIO are investigating the Flydubai co-pilot who allegedly attempted to hijack a flight to Tel Aviv, after he was linked to Australia.
The man, named by multiple outlets as Omani national Hammam al-Hammami, held an Australian student visa from 2014 and studied here until 2017, with his visa cancelled in 2019.
The UAE prosecutor has described the incident as a terrorist attack, and Flydubai has suspended its Dubai to Tel Aviv flights until further notice.
