Travel writer Ash Jurberg spent two nights at Narrows Escape, an adults-only rainforest villa retreat in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, about 40 minutes from the beach.
Tripadvisor once named Narrows Escape the most romantic hotel in the world, and the property offers private pools, fresh croissants at the door and visiting possums at night.
The pair explored the easy 1.7km Picnic Creek Circuit in Kondalilla National Park and the village of Montville, finding the hinterland a genuinely peaceful contrast to the busy coast.
