A UK startup has raised $20 million to stage concerts using hyper-realistic digital avatars of both living and deceased musicians, aiming to undercut the Abba Voyage model.

UK startup Unit1 has secured $20 million in funding to create digital avatar concerts of artists who are no longer touring, including those who have died.
The company was founded by former Andrew Lloyd Webber CEO Barney Wragg and has already tested the technology with Scottish musician KT Tunstall using motion capture cameras.
Unlike Abba Voyage, which needs a dedicated venue, Unit1's shows could tour multiple countries simultaneously, potentially making avatar concerts far more accessible.
