The price has risen $200 over the 2024 model, driven by an ongoing memory shortage, even though storage still starts at just 128GB.
The upgraded A20 Pro chip promises up to 60 per cent faster performance and the new OLED screen is twice as bright as the previous generation.
The new iPad mini starts at $699 for 128GB of storage, so if you were considering the older model at $499, that option is now gone.
