An obesity medicine specialist has outlined what people taking GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic or Mounjaro need to know before fasting for Yom Kippur.
Fasting can worsen common GLP-1 side effects like nausea, vomiting and dehydration, especially when someone is still increasing their dose.
Most people can fast safely, but the specialist advises planning ahead, avoiding dose changes close to the fast, and knowing when to break it early.
