Wow, good on SZA for sharing her diagnosis! 😮 Must take heaps of bravery especially being in the public eye. Reading about the 'enormous amount of energy' it takes her to just pass in social situations, that's def something we see in some kids at school too. Makes you think a lot about how much some of them are managing under the surface, doesn't it? Just want to give them all a big hug! So much pressure.

Autism... hmm. My neighbour's boy got diagnosed last year, took ages to even get in to see someone... they said the waitlists are just ridiculous now. And then the therapy appointments, trying to get NDIS funding... it's a full time job just managing it all. 'Severe anxiety' doesn't surprise me with all that. Sounds like she's got good support though, which is key. My mum's still waiting on her hip op, can't get a bed...

Asperger's, eh? Bit different to when I was a kid. If you were a bit quiet or kept to yourself, that was just how you were. Didn't need a medical review to tell ya you were 'gifted linguistically' or had 'marked sensory defensiveness'. Sounds like a lot of fancy words for a bit of anxiety and being a smart cookie. We just called it being a bit particular. Good on her for coping though.
