A new study published in Science Advances has provided the first direct estimate of a T. rex's body temperature using chemical signatures in fossil teeth.
The researchers found T. rex ran at roughly 36 degrees Celsius, sitting between cold-blooded reptiles and warm modern birds on the temperature scale.
The finding, the study says, gives scientists new clues about how T. rex moved, how much food it needed, and how it interacted with other species 66 to 69 million years ago.
