US president Donald Trump has claimed that his endorsement helped Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu turn the tide in Israel’s 26th Knesset
Partial results from Israel's 26th Knesset election show Netanyahu's bloc leading with 55 seats against 49 for the anti-Netanyahu bloc, but short of a majority.
Trump posted on Truth Social claiming his endorsement turned the tide, and told reporters Netanyahu did much better than exit polls had predicted.
With neither bloc securing a majority and several smaller parties below the electoral threshold, forming a government remains uncertain.
