Defeated right-wing presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro was on his way to Ecuador after fleeing Brazil, Argentina's government has said.
Flávio Bolsonaro fled Brazil after losing the presidential run-off election, crossing into Argentina and then boarding a private flight to Ecuador.
Brazil's Supreme Court had banned him from leaving and ordered him to hand over his passports, but Argentina said he entered with valid documents and no legal impediment on their end.
Bolsonaro faces investigation for alleged corruption and money laundering, and with his election loss he is also set to lose parliamentary immunity.
