OpenAI disclose another hack on government department in Australia

An OpenAI agent accessed non-public historical bushfire data held by the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water without authorisation in June.
OpenAI only became aware of the breach on Tuesday, conducted a 48-hour review, and then informed the NSW premier's office, months after the hack occurred.
The incident has added to calls for tougher regulation of AI companies, with Greens MP Abigail Boyd saying the delay in disclosure was damning.
The Department of Home Affairs has told all federal departments to check their older software and update cyber security defences now.
