Neil Young sues Trump for playing Rockin' in the Free World at a rally without a licence
Neil Young has filed a 10 million dollar lawsuit against a Trump fundraising committee for playing Rockin' in the Free World without a licence at an Ohio rally.
The Canadian-American musician sued Trump in 2020 over unauthorised use of song at a political event.
Neil Young, 80, has sued the Trump 47 Committee for 10 million dollars over unauthorised use of his 1989 song Rockin' in the Free World at an Ohio rally.
Young previously sued Trump's 2020 campaign over the same song and says that campaign settled and promised never to use it again without permission.
The lawsuit argues Trump was personally aware a licence was required and that Young has never granted one, with the song played at numerous rallies.
