Meta blocked a Barcelona theatre from running ads for a Virginia Woolf stage adaptation, telling them that mentions of feminism and civil rights triggered its automatic filter.
Meta suggested the theatre remove key words to avoid the filter, prompting the venue to publish a public statement calling the block an injustice and a violation of their rights.
The play's star Clara Sanchis said the situation shows how social media platforms can erase cultural and social advances, warning of the dangers of giving them unlimited power.
