Pat Cash accused Roger Federer of legalised cheating after Federer took a medical timeout during the fifth set of the 2017 Australian Open final against Rafael Nadal.
Federer said his leg had been hurting since the second round and that he had used the timeout to see if a massage might help, adding the rules allow it.
Federer won the match 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to claim his 17th Grand Slam title, dismissing Cash's criticism by saying he was the last guy to call a medical timeout.
