A bullet on the windscreen, a firefighter’s old badge number: The message left on a Victorian minister’s car
A bullet engraved with the word RAT and his old firefighter badge number was left on Victorian Emergency Services Minister Paul Edbrooke's car, and police are now investigating.
The threatening act comes as the firefighters union begins a campaign urging voters to put Labor last, as a dispute over staffing requirements continues.
Victorian Emergency Services Minister Paul Edbrooke found a bullet engraved with the word RAT and his former firefighter ID number on his car windscreen in Frankston.
Edbrooke said he suspected members of the United Firefighters Union, as very few people knew his five-digit ID number from his 14 years as a Frankston firefighter.
The incident comes days after federal MP Helen Haines was allegedly struck by a car, putting the safety of elected officials at the centre of national debate.
