Sylvia Jeffreys has been chosen as the new Today show host over Sam Armytage, with both Jeffreys and co-host Tom Steinfort starting in 2027.
The race for Sarah Abo’s hosting gig on the Today show is said to have gone down to the wire.
Nine has confirmed Sylvia Jeffreys and Tom Steinfort will co-host the Today show from 2027, after Sarah Abo stepped away from the network.
Jeffreys is reportedly set to earn around $750,000 a year, about $50,000 less than Abo received in the role, with Steinfort on a similar figure.
Sam Armytage, who was in the running for the role, said returning to breakfast TV would have been going backwards and she has no regrets.
