A Sydney man caught at the airport with over 1000 child abuse files on his phone has been sentenced to five years in prison.

William Harrop, 26, was stopped by Australian Border Force at Sydney Airport in September 2025 returning from Dubai with child abuse material on his phone.
Forensic analysis found 764 photos and 482 videos of child abuse, plus WhatsApp messages with other offenders and two 14-year-old boys.
Harrop pleaded guilty to three charges and was sentenced to five years in prison, with parole eligibility from September 2029.
