US says it will issue visa to Flávio Bolsonaro as Brazilian authorities question his whereabouts
Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro has reportedly fled to the US amid corruption and money laundering investigations, with his lawyers saying they have no idea where he is.
The defeated right-wing presidential candidate is under investigation for alleged corruption and money laundering - allegations he denies.
Flávio Bolsonaro reportedly travelled to the US after Brazilian authorities cancelled his passports for failing to surrender them as ordered.
His lawyers told the BBC they are completely in the dark about his whereabouts, and the US says it will issue him a visa.
His father Jair Bolsonaro is already under house arrest serving a 27-year sentence for attempting a coup after losing the 2022 election.
