‘They put the bullet through a lot of players’: Head hammers greats over Test team attacks
Travis Head has fired back at former Australian cricketers turned commentators, saying they unfairly criticise the current Test team and some just need the work.
A simmering feud between Australia’s current and past Test cricketers has been reignited by Travis Head.
Travis Head publicly hit back at former Australian Test players who have been criticising the current squad's batting and selection choices.
Matthew Hayden had called the selection of 34-year-old Nic Maddinson the greatest pile of mediocrity seen in a generation of Australian cricket.
Head said the team has huge respect for past players but the current group is strong enough to handle the criticism and move on.
