Prosecution points to safety harness concerns, training gaps in trial over ACS(I) student's death
A Singapore company manager is on trial after a 15-year-old student died at a ropes course in 2021 when he was left suspended in a harness for over half an hour.
The 15-year-old student was suspended midair in his harness for more than half an hour before being lowered to safety.
The general manager of outdoor adventure company Camelot went on trial in Singapore over safety failures that led to a student's death in 2021.
Fifteen-year-old Jethro Puah Xin Yang fell about 15 metres up a ropes course and was left suspended in his harness for roughly half an hour before rescue.
Jethro died the next day from multi-organ failure caused by suffocation, and an instructor was separately jailed for failing to check his harness properly.
