More than 2,400 people have been arrested after clashes between demonstrators and police
French prime minister Sébastien Lecornu called for partial curfews in parts of cities after violent protests rocked France over the weekend.
More than 2,400 people were arrested after a town hall was torched, shops pillaged and clashes broke out in Paris and Marseilles.
Lecornu blamed the ultra-left for the unrest and promised a massive investigation to find those who have so far avoided arrest.
The protests were sparked by public anger over rising living costs and failing public services, so the situation is still developing and worth watching.
