Four sailors from an Australian yacht were rescued after their boat struck a whale and sank 250 nautical miles north of Norfolk Island, spending hours in a life raft.
"The yacht was taking on water and began sinking after reporting it had struck a whale," RCCNZ operations manager Mike Clulow said.
