Australian security agencies are investigating the flydubai co-pilot who allegedly tried to hijack an Israel-bound flight after it emerged he spent two years in Australia as a student.

Australian security agencies confirmed they are investigating the flydubai co-pilot who allegedly attempted a terrorist attack on a flight to Tel Aviv.
The Omani national reportedly held an Australian student visa from 2014, studied here until 2017, and his visa was cancelled in 2019 after he left.
The AFP, Victoria Police and ASIO are jointly probing his Australian connections, with the UAE leading the broader investigation into the attack itself.
The Victorian Joint Counter Terrorism Team, including AFP and ASIO, is actively investigating the man's links to Australia and says an update will be provided at an appropriate time.
