‘Brutal’: thousands of T-shirt designs stolen and listed on Temu, Sydney label claims
A Sydney T-shirt label says thousands of its designs were copied and listed on Temu, possibly using AI scraping tools, leaving the small business owner devastated.
Warwick Levy, who runs Lonely Kids Club, says AI may have been used to scrape his entire website and replicate designs
Sydney label Lonely Kids Club found thousands of its T-shirt designs copied and listed for sale on Temu, with owner Warwick Levy calling the discovery brutal.
Levy believes an AI scraping tool copied his entire website, including product descriptions, brand name, mock-ups and photography across a catalogue of 4,000 products.
Levy eventually got the listings removed via a trademark claim rather than copyright, highlighting how hard it is for small Australian creators to protect their work online.
