Blue Planet III features cloudier footage to prove authenticity amid AI boom
Blue Planet III is deliberately keeping murky, imperfect underwater footage to prove to viewers that none of it is AI-generated.
BBC series deliberately uses ‘more organic’ shots to assure viewers animals are not AI-generated, producers say
BBC producers say Blue Planet III intentionally includes cloudier, less polished shots to prove the footage is authentic and not AI-generated.
Executive producer Elizabeth White said the deep-ocean creatures filmed are probably more remarkable than AI could imagine, and completely real.
As AI-generated nature content grows, the BBC says it will lean further into raw, organic footage to reassure audiences of its authenticity.
The BBC confirmed no generative AI was used in a single frame of Blue Planet III, so what you see on screen is entirely real wildlife photography.
