Apple's new iOS 27 includes a scam-detection feature that warns apps if your behaviour looks like you're being manipulated by a social engineering scam.
Apple’s Impersonation Risk Detection helps supported apps identify an active scam risk without receiving the underlying user data.
Apple launched a feature called Impersonation Risk Detection with iOS 27 to help apps spot when a user may be caught up in a social engineering scam.
The system analyses on-device patterns like call and email activity and returns a risk level of unknown, medium or high to the requesting app, not to Apple.
Users must opt in, and it is the app, not Apple, that decides how to respond, such as adding a waiting period or displaying a warning.
You can find the feature under Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Impersonation Risk Detection, and you must opt in for it to work.
