An 18-year-old Queensland man is facing 30 charges after the FBI tipped off Australian police about violent extremist content he allegedly posted online.
An FBI tip-off has led to a Queensland teenager facing court for allegedly spreading violent Islamophobic, anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant content, as well as allegedly possessing child abuse material.
A Queensland teenager from Warner, north of Brisbane, has been charged with 30 offences after the FBI alerted Australian Federal Police to extremist content he allegedly posted online.
The charges include 14 counts of transmitting violent extremist material and one count of possessing child abuse material, following a forensic examination of seized devices.
The case is the first public example of a new FBI-AFP intelligence-sharing agreement signed in July, designed to tackle terrorism and transnational crime.
