Small business minister says she’s had 19 death threats this week
Small Business Minister Anne Aly revealed she received 19 death threats this week after Liberal MP Angie Bell said she and the PM should be stoned in the square.
Liberal Angie Bell has been rebuked after saying Anne Aly and Anthony Albanese should be “stoned in the square” over the ATO’s ban on credit card payments.
Liberal MP Angie Bell was ordered to withdraw comments in parliament saying Minister Anne Aly and PM Albanese should be stoned in the square over the ATO credit card ban.
Aly revealed on Instagram she had received 19 death threats in the past week alone, saying the language used by Bell mirrored threats she had previously received.
The row centres on the ATO banning credit card payments for tax bills, a decision Treasurer Jim Chalmers has since negotiated a delay on after pressure from small businesses.
