Sir Ken McCallum says Russia, Iran and emerging threats from AI were increasing the risks to Britain.
MI5 director Sir Ken McCallum said the service is devoting more resources to countering state threats than at any point during the Cold War.
He said threats from foreign adversaries have quadrupled, with Russia labelled aggressor number one, 50 Iran-linked arrests in the past year, and terrorists already caught using AI with drones.
