Victoria’s landmark work from home laws have been labelled a “scam” by the outspoken leader of the Libertarian Party, after leading constitutional lawyers warned the proposed laws are likely to be struck down by the High Court.
Independent legal advice commissioned by the Property Council found Victoria's work-from-home bill, already passed the lower house, is likely unconstitutional.
Libertarian MP David Limbrick compared it to the Commonwealth Games debacle, which cost Victorian taxpayers $589 million in sunk costs and compensation.
The bill could be struck down if it passes parliament, meaning workers may never see the two-days-a-week WFH right the government promised.
