A high school teacher in North Dakota discovered the first-ever connected sequence of T. rex footprints, estimated to be 66.5 million years old.
These massive footprints were made by a T. rex 66.5 million years ago.
Scientists have described the first adult T. rex trackway, a sequence of four connected fossilised footprints found in North Dakota in 2025.
The trackway is about 7 metres long with a stride of roughly 4 metres, suggesting the dinosaur was walking at around 5.6 to 7.2 kilometres per hour.
Researchers say footprints capture actual behaviour in a way bones cannot, and this is the first time we can follow a T. rex as it moved.
