Australia's competition watchdog has provisionally approved a settlement between Epic Games and Google that could lower app store fees for Australian developers.

The watchdog said the proposed settlement would allow developers greater flexibility to direct users to alternative payment methods outside Google Play Billing. The regulator is seeking submissions on the draft determination by Aug. 7 before making a final decision.
