Aussies told: Power your home this way
BYD has expanded a vehicle-to-grid trial in Australia, letting EV owners sell power back to the grid and potentially save up to $2,500 a year on energy bills.
Thousands of Aussie drivers could soon turn their electric cars into giant money-making power banks under a major new energy push.
BYD has expanded its vehicle-to-grid partnership with Amber Electric, allowing Sealion 7 owners to send power back to the grid without voiding their warranty.
The program is scaling from 50 to 1,000 homes, backed by $13.6 million in federal funding, with more than 8,000 Australians already on the waitlist.
Amber Electric says households using the technology can save between $1,000 and $2,500 a year, with one South Australian earning $500 in a single afternoon.
The program is scaling to 1,000 homes with over 8,000 on the waitlist, so if you own a BYD Sealion 7 or Atto 3, check Amber Electric's site to register your interest.
