A Victorian man dubbed Australia's Tinder swindler has been jailed for nearly six years after conning a single mother out of more than $324,000 using fake online personas.
An infamous Australian Tinder swindler, who has ripped off multiple women, poses a high risk of reoffending and is escalating his behaviour, a judge has warned.
Christopher Collins, 37, was jailed for almost six years in the County Court of Victoria for defrauding a single mother of more than $324,000 over six months.
Collins used up to 10 fake online personas to threaten the woman, forcing her to sell her home and investment property and borrow from her dying mother.
The judge warned Collins poses a high risk of reoffending and is escalating his behaviour, having met his latest victim on Bumble using the alias Pedro.
