Australia's competition watchdog has provisionally approved a global settlement between Epic Games and Google over their antitrust dispute.
Epic Games and Google have received draft approval from Australia's competition watchdog for a global settlement to their long-running antitrust dispute. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the proposed settlement would increase competition in app distribution and payment processing by allowing third-party app stores and alternative payment systems, while reducing service fees for many developers. The watchdog proposes to authorize the settlement until Sept. 30, 2032 and is seeking submissions until Aug. 7 before issuing a final determination in August or September.
