Highlights include port wine magnolia as a scented hedge, native frangipani for tight sunny spots, and peonies for cooler climate gardens.
Several of these blooms intensify their perfume in the evening to attract night-time pollinators like moths, adding a lovely after-dark dimension.
Port wine magnolia works as a fragrant front hedge, while Bouvardia, Luculia or Rondeletia suit pots and balconies if you have limited space.
